All Things Maple Syrup Around the Twin Cities | Counselor Realty

It's maple syrup season in the Twin Cities! Many nature reserves around our St. Paul homes for sale and Minneapolis homes for sale will host maple sugaring events in the next few weeks. Check out the events listed below to get a taste of the action (and the delicious maple syrup) yourself.

  • Maple Syruping at the Dodge Nature Center - 1701 Charlton St., West St. Paul, MN 55118
From 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 9, the Dodge Nature Center will host its annual Maple Syruping event. During your visit, you can watch the center's staff tap the maple trees, gather the sap, and then follow its journey through the evaporator to become maple syrup and sugar. You'll also get a chance to sample the delicious finished products. Tickets cost $8 per person, and you must register in advance to reserve your spot.

  • Maple Syruping in Your Backyard at Fort Snelling State Park - 101 Snelling Lake Road, St. Paul, MN 55111
Want to learn how to make your own maple syrup at home? The Fort Snelling State Park will host their Maple Syruping in Your Backyard event on March 17 from noon to 2 p.m. During this workshop, you'll learn how to tap the maple trees on your land, collect their sap, and turn that sap into real maple syrup. The event is free, but guests must pre-register by phone or email to attend.

  • Maple Syrup Making at the Eden Prairie Outdoor Center - 13765 Staring Lake Parkway, Eden Prairie, MN 55347
Maple Syrup Making is one of the most accessible events on this list, running on March 3, 9, and 16 at 2 p.m. each day. Hosted at the Eden Prairie Outdoor Center, participants will learn about the history of maple syrup-making and make a makuk. This small container can be used to store sap and syrup just as local Native tribes once did. It's a great opportunity for people living near our Eden Prairie homes for sale to learn more about the area's past and the indigenous people who once lived here. Tickets cost $12 per family and must be purchased online at least one day before the date you want to attend.

  • Maple Syrup Fest at the Lowry Nature Center - 7025 Nature Center Drive, Victoria, MN 55386
Can't get a free weekend until the end of the month? The Lowry Nature Center's 2024 Maple Syrup Fest is scheduled for March 23, the last Saturday before Easter weekend. At this event near our Victoria homes for sale, you'll learn all about the origins of maple sugaring, watch the staff tap the center's trees, and sample some of the finished product at the on-site sugar shack. Tickets cost $6 per person with a 20% discount for groups of four or more. Each group must choose a one-hour block between 1 and 4 p.m. for their visit.

  • Tapping Time! At the Harriet Alexander Nature Center - 2520 Dale St. N, Roseville, MN 55113
Tapping Time! is an upcoming event hosted at the Harriet Alexander Nature Center, a reserve near our Roseville homes for sale. On March 23 and 24 from noon to 4 p.m., the center will welcome drop-in visitors to watch the maple sap collection process, participate in hands-on activities and demonstrations to learn more about the syrup-making process, and purchase some maple syrup and maple candies on display. Admission is free, no reservations are needed, and guests are welcome to stay as long as they like.

Maple syrup season only comes once a year, but every season in Minnesota brings something new. Call today to speak to our real estate team, start looking for a place to settle down, and watch it all happen.
