Twin Cities Quilting Shops - Counselor Realty

Calling all quilters—and fans of quilted items! March 19th is National Quilting Day, a holiday created to honor the ancient tradition of quilting and to promote its continuation in this modern era. The Twin Cities are proud to be the home of many wonderful quilting shops. If you've been focused on looking at Minneapolis homes for sale or Saint Paul homes for sale, then consider taking a break to visit one of these awesome quilt stores in the Twin Cities.

  1. Knit & Bolt: 2833 Johnson St. NE, Minneapolis, MN 55418
Knit & Bolt is an independent yarn and fabric store that opened in 2017. The store sells a lot of indie-dyed fabrics, perfect for creative quilting work. You can find wool, cotton, alpaca, and linen yarns.

Knit & Bolt also offers quilting classes for all experience levels. Their Beginner Quilting classes are three hours long and generally teach you how to make something simple, such as a blanket or table runner. They also offer straight line quilting, embroidery, and beginner's sewing classes.

  2. Treadle Yard Goods: 1338 Grand Ave., Saint Paul, MN 55105
Treadle Yard Goods is a little shop that sells lots of unique fabrics, threads, and other sewing and quilting supplies. They've served the Twin Cities since 1976. Many of their fabrics are imported from France and Italy. All of Treadle's employees are dedicated, experienced sewers and crafters, which allows them to give you detailed guidance as you shop.

In addition to selling quilting supplies, Treadle offers core sewing classes, embroidery classes, and fitting classes. They can even help you figure out any sewing machine problems you may be having as a quilter.

  3. Sewing Lounge: 987 Selby Ave., Saint Paul, MN 55104
Sewing Lounge offers a great selection of sewing supplies for quilters. They carry a wide range of fabrics, such as silk, polyester, knits, and cotton. They also carry sewing machines and can help you select the perfect one to upgrade your quilting.

Sewing Lounge offers sewing support and sewing classes. Their Sewing 101 class is a perfect choice for those brand-new to the hobby. Classes are kept to a maximum of six students, which means everyone gets plenty of personal attention.

  4. Affinity for Quilts: 2199 4th St., White Bear Lake, MN 55110
If you're in the area looking at White Bear Lake homes for sale, then Affinity for Quilts is the perfect place to stop in honor of National Quilting Day. They sell everything a quilter needs, from backing fabric to patterns. They even carry quilting kits, which are perfect for beginners.

Affinity for Quilts is a privately owned shop. They offer one-on-one instruction by appointment only.

  5. Four Seasons Quilts: 9708 63rd Ave. N, Maple Grove, MN 55369
Four Seasons Quilts is a small, friendly quilting shop located near many Maple Grove homes for sale. They have a good selection of fabrics, threads, and other basic quilting supplies, and they also offer sewing machine servicing. They'll sharpen your scissors if you bring them in on a Friday, too.

There are several groups that meet at Four Seasons Quilting, such as a Ladies Wool Club and a Quilting With Friends Club. Stop by the store to learn more about joining.

Quilting can be a really enjoyable hobby. Whether you're new to quilting or have been quilting for years, we hope you enjoy visiting these local shops. If you're new to the area and looking for a place to call home, call today to learn more about our real estate services.
