Disc Golf Courses - Twin Cities - Counselor Realty

Playing disc golf is such a nice way to enjoy the outdoors. You can take your time moving from basket to basket, admiring the scenery on the way. Even if you have little to no disc throwing experience, it's an approachable sport, and the disc golf community is really welcoming. If you're looking at Minneapolis homes for sale or Saint Paul homes for sale, here are some disc golf courses to visit in the area.

  • Highland Park Disc Golf Course: 1200 Montreal Ave., Saint Paul, MN 55116
The Highland Park Disc Golf Course is a full, 18-hole course. Some baskets are out in the open, and others are set in more challenging, wooded terrain. The course is best classified as an intermediate course, but beginners can certainly have fun with it, too.

This course is open to the public, and there is no charge to play. Highland Park has a lot to offer, so after your disc golf game, you can play horseshoes, enjoy a picnic under a shelter, let your kids explore the playgrounds, or walk the hiking trails.

  • Garlough Park Disc Golf Course: 1800 Charlton St., West Saint Paul, MN 55118
Garlough Park is a 23-acre park on the outskirts of the city. It's a nicely manicured park with paved walking trails, and of course, a disc golf course. This is a 9-basket course, but every basket is unique and interesting to play. It's a great choice for beginners.

The Garlough Park Disc Golf Course is open daily from 8 am - 10 pm, and there's no charge to play. The first three holes are located in one area. Holes 4 - 6 are in another area, and holes 7 - 9 are grouped together.

  • Ford Parkway Disc Golf Course: 4825 Minnehaha Ave., Minneapolis, MN 55417
The Ford Parkway Disc Golf Course is a 9-hole course well-suited to beginners. The park is pretty small, so you don't have to walk far between baskets. Many of the shots are quite short, so you can move through the course pretty quickly.

When you're done playing disc golf, you can spend some time in the wading pool or enjoy a picnic under the picnic shelter.

  • Kaposia Park: Butler & Wilde Ave., South Saint Paul, MN 55075
The Kaposia Park Disc Golf Course is one of the largest in the Minneapolis and Saint Paul area. There are 26 baskets in total, and the course is over 9,000 feet long. This course has lots of elevation changes, so you'll get some great exercise walking from basket to basket.

Kaposia Park is open to carts, but there are a few holes that are only accessible on foot. There's a $5 fee to play, but this course is worth it.

  • Acorn Park Disc Golf: 258 W. County Road C, Roseville, MN 55113
If you're looking at Roseville homes for sale, this disc golf course is just minutes away. Acorn Park Disc Golf is known for its rolling hills and wooded setting. The course is nearly a mile long with 18 holes. Eight of the holes have two baskets. A few of the holes are on marshy ground, so wear waterproof footwear if visiting after rain.

Acorn Park is open daily from dawn until 10 pm, and there is no fee to play.

Disc golf is a really approachable sport for people of all ages! There are so many great courses to visit, even just in the Minneapolis and Saint Paul areas. If you're thinking of moving here, and are looking for a real estate agent, call today.
