Italian Food Around the Twin Cities - Counselor Realty

If you love Italian food – and who doesn't? – you'll have plenty of great restaurants to choose from around Minneapolis. From eateries that serve elevated dishes to ones that focus on the tried-and-true prepared in a delicious way, you're sure to find something to please your taste buds.

Treat yourself to dinner from one of the following Italian restaurants located near Minneapolis homes for sale as well as St. Paul homes for sale, and work your way through the list for delicious meals in the weeks to come:

  • Pizzeria Lola – 5557 Xerxes Ave., S. Minneapolis, MN 55410
Pizzeria Lola is full of surprises – starting with the fact that chef/owner Ann Kim is a James Beard Award-winning chef originally from Korea. The pizza-focused neighborhood restaurant makes traditional pies like pepperoni but also serves signature pizzas like the Lady Zaza (with red sauce, kimchi, Korean sausage, serrano peppers, scallions, sesame, and soy-chili glaze). If you'd like to try one of their pizzas, the restaurant is currently open for takeout only. Hours are 4 p.m.-8:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-9:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 11 a.m.-8:30 p.m. Sunday. Orders can be placed starting one hour before the restaurant opens.

  • Italian Eatery – 4724 Cedar Ave., Minneapolis, MN 55407
Nestled amid the lakes of South Minneapolis, Italian Eatery has an extensive delivery menu as well as plenty of take-and-make-items so you can prepare a fresh, delicious meal at home. Start with your favorite type of noodle from the restaurant's dough room to serve as the base for your own restaurant-quality dish. Or order a complete dish like Wild Boar Garganelli with wild boar meatballs, rosemary sugo, fontina, and taleggio. Cooking instructions are included with each dish. Hours are 4 p.m.-8:30 p.m. Monday-Sunday.

  • Prima – 5325 Lyndale Ave. S, Minneapolis, MN 55419-1229
    Prima
has served fresh food made from scratch for over 20 years. Dishes are made the old-fashioned way, with the best ingredients available, and the owners have a family farm that produces greens, vegetables, and more. All are grown without using chemicals or pesticides. Popular dishes at Prima include squash and pumpkin ravioli, braised short rib fettuccine, and spaghetti alla vodka. Hours are 4 p.m.-8 p.m. daily.

  • Fat Lorenzo's – 5600 Cedar Ave. S, Minneapolis, MN 55417
Award-winning Fat Lorenzo's lives up to its motto of "Italian in a Big Way." Located at the southwest corner of Lake Nokomis, the restaurant has made Daily Meal's list of best pizzas in America, and CBS Minnesota declared the restaurant's gelato as the best in Minnesota. Choose from a wide variety of pizza, pasta, and hoagies, including traditional offerings as well as more adventurous offerings like the New Haven pizza, which is topped with baby clams.
