Celebrate Cinco de Mayo With Takeout from These Restaurants
When we're showing Minneapolis homes for sale one of the selling points about the area is the cultural diversity it offers, especially when it comes to dining options. The Twin Cities are home to plenty of authentic Mexican restaurants where you can celebrate Cinco De Mayo.
Although this year will be much different from what we're used to, you can still order takeout and have your own mini celebration at home. When you head out to pick up your food, you can also drive around and check out the curb appeal of some of the beautiful Saint Paul homes for sale.
Not sure where to go? Here are a few of our favorite local Mexican restaurants that are currently offering takeout and delivery options.

The Habanero Tacos Grill has been pleasing patrons in the Minneapolis area since 2015. You'll find a full menu of Mexican favorites here, including Alambres, Sopas, Tostadas, and Aguas Frescas. Make sure you get a side of their house-made traditional salsa or their unique habanero salsa! - Tavial Grill: 1199 W. 7th St., Saint Paul, MN 55102
For authentic Mexican food and generous portions, you can't go wrong with Tavial Grill. This family-owned restaurant makes all of their food to order, so you can be sure that you're always getting a fresh, delicious meal. While everything on the menu is great, we recommend the Chicken Fajitas and El Pastor Tacos.
- El Burrito Mercado: 175 Cesar Chavez St., St Paul, MN 55107
If you're a fan of enormous burritos, you'll want to celebrate Cinco De Mayo with El Burrito Mercado. The traditional burritos are fantastic, but if you're feeling adventurous, try a shrimp or nacho burrito. As an added bonus, you can also stock up on your grocery needs with online ordering and curbside pickup from the Mercado.
- Sonora Grill: 3300 E. Lake St., Minneapolis, MN 55406
Looking for a full spread for your Cinco De Mayo celebrations? Sonora Grill has awesome appetizers like Ceviche and Empanadas and dinner options, including Chilaquiles Verdes, Adobado, and a large selection of tacos. We recommend the shrimp tempura tacos! If you're feeling brave, order a tongue taco too!
You can also feel comfortable knowing that they offer "no contact" pickup and curbside delivery as well as delivery through Door Dash, GrubHub, and Bite Squad.

One of the area's best "hidden gems," GrandeSunrise Mexican Restaurant offers excellent food and extremely reasonable prices. The menu features traditional Mexican street food and an excellent selection of seafood dishes. The Shrimp Fajitas and Ceviche are both excellent, as are the Carnitas and steak Sopas. - Boca Chica: 11 Cesar Chavez St., St Paul, MN 55107
We love the fresh-made chips and spicy homemade salsa at Boca Chica. The menu here features authentic Mexican and Tex-Mex food that's sure to please everyone in your home.
We recommend the cheese dip, traditional Mexican stew, and the Chile Relano. Can't decide? They also have a great "pick two" option so you can mix and match all of your favorites. Go ahead and order enough to last you for a couple of days!
