Minnesota is proudly known as "Land of 10,000 Lakes," and there are certainly multiple bodies of water near Minneapolis homes for sale. But lakes are only part of the beautiful scenery that makes St. Paul homes for sale so desirable. Every day's a vacation when you visit these amazing spots around the Twin Cities.

Lake Nokomis Park - 4955 W. Lake Nokomis Pkwy., Minneapolis, MN 55417
Named for Hiawatha's grandmother in Longfellow's epic poem, Lake Nokomis Park is visual poetry. The 204-acre lake and its surroundings provide a peaceful oasis rarely found in an urban setting. Enjoy the view while you drive around the lake, or stroll the 2.7-mile pedestrian trail that circles the perimeter with your leashed dog. Watch for colorful butterflies at the four-acre Nokomis Naturescape Garden and its landscape of native grasses and wildflowers. Park hours are 6 a.m. - midnight daily. The garden is open 7:30 a.m. - 10 p.m.
