Farm-to-Table Dining Twin Cities

Who doesn't love a delicious farm-to-table meal? Our real estate agents sure do! The Twin Cities are definitely a foodie paradise. With so many amazing eateries on both sides of the Mississippi, you could dine out every night of the week and still spend years trying to taste them all! We love meals made from the freshest local ingredients and want to share a few of our favorite restaurants with you. Here are six favorite farm-to-table spots around Minneapolis and Saint Paul.

  1. Tongue In Cheek — 989 Payne Ave., Saint Paul, MN 55130
Get some lovin' on the East Side at Tongue In Cheek. This restaurant only uses animal products that are raised on humane and sustainable farms. Their dinner options include savory pork belly ramen, duck Bolognese with potato gnocchi and grilled arctic char. Stop by for brunch one afternoon and try their tasty egg sandwiches made with cold smoked salmon or braised pork.

  2. The Bachelor Farmer — 50 N. 2nd Ave., Minneapolis, MN 55401
Looking for love in your next meal? Head to The Bachelor Farmer and explore Northern food like never before. They have their own in-house forager that gives every dish a special taste that can only be found in the North Star State. You've got to try their grilled lamb with wilted greens or their roasted half chicken with sunchoke cream and koji butter. Top it off with a coffee ice cream sundae and you'll wonder how so many diverse ingredients can come from a single northern state.

  3. Handsome Hog — 203 6th St. E., Saint Paul, MN 55101
A contemporary Southern restaurant in Lowertown, Handsome Hog features locally sourced food as much as possible. Each hog that they prepare is completely used, tail to snout. Stop in between mid-day and late-night for different menu options including Cubano 'Pigwiches', sausage gravy poutine, chicken and waffles, cornbread muffins and fresh banana pudding.

  4. Cedar + Stone, Urban Table — 2141 Lindau Ln., Minneapolis, MN 55425
Take it from us, one of the best farm to table dining experiences has got to be at Cedar + Stone. Delivering a dynamic Minnesota food experience, this restaurant relies on local farmers and distillers to provide them with their ingredients. Schedule an executive lunch and enjoy a meal featuring soup, salads, and sandwiches or make reservations for a lovely steak, pan-roasted chicken or cider-brined pork chop dinner. Order a dark chocolate Crème Brulee for dessert and wash it down with a local beer or craft cocktail.

  5. The Happy Gnome — 498 Selby Ave., Saint Paul, MN 55102
An award-winning gastropub, The Happy Gnome is the preferred place for fresh, seasonal selections from local growers. Munch on a house-made pretzel or lobster mac 'n' cheese while you peruse the menu. Pizza or tacos — some delicious decisions are harder than others. If you're in the mood for a burger, we suggest trying their Fried Vegetable Juicy Lucy.

  6. The Copper Hen — 2515 Nicollet Ave., Minneapolis, MN 55404
Everyone needs a reliable happy hour hot spot and The Copper Hen is definitely one of the best in Minneapolis. Stop by twice a day for their food and drink specials. For lunch, try a sandwich and salad pairing like the poached pear salad and Farmhouse BLT. For dinner, you must try the three-course steak dish which features a hand-selected cow from a local farm, soup or salad, sides, and a scrumptious cupcake. Farm to table eating doesn't get any better than this!
