Twin Cities Food Trucks

Food trucks have become a mainstream phenomenon that seems to be growing in popularity year over year. It's not surprising. After all, who doesn't love having access to deliciously prepared food at a great price, and without the wait?

While you're driving around looking at St. Paul homes for sale, you're sure to notice the prevalence of food trucks in the area. In fact, Minneapolis-St. Paul was named among the nation's Top Ten Food Truck Cities

To help you prepare for National Food Truck Day on June 28th, our real estate agents have created this list of their favorite hotspots. Don't feel like you have to wait until June to start exploring your options, though. There's never a bad time to visit your local food truck!

  1. Moral Omnivore
When exploring Minneapolis homes for sale, you'll want to stop by downtown to visit some of the awesome trucks parked at 2nd Avenue's Food Truck Row. This is where you're likely to find the Moral Omnivore. These foodies are dedicated to serving eclectic, sustainably-produced foods. Locals love the fried tomato BLT, beet sliders, and the curried mushroom fries.
  2. Gastrotruck
The chefs at Gastrotruck serve an array of culinary creations that are full of personality and flair. Whether you're in the mood for wheatberry mac and cheese, a Thai chicken burger, or a grass-fed beef brisket sandwich, you're sure to find something to tempt your tastebuds.
  3. MidNord Empanadas
Serving authentic Spanish empanadas with a Minnesota flair, MidNord Empanadas will never leave you feeling disappointed. The menu changes daily, but you'll always find an array of empanadas with both traditional and unique fillings and side items like Yuca fries and twice-fried plantains.
  4. Potter's Pasties and Pies
Voted the best food truck in the Twin Cities eight times, Potter's Pasties and Pies is a must-visit destination. While the traditional pasty made with minced beef is always a favorite, you also can't go wrong with the fresh-baked chicken, Thai veg, or "pig" pasties.
  5. Gerhard's Brats
If traditional German sausages are your jam, you'll love the menu options at Gerhard's Brats. Here you'll find several styles of brats, sausage platters, Bavarian pretzels with farmer's cheese dip, German potato salad, and more.  The owners of Gerhard's pride themselves in only using locally-sourced, ethically-raised pork and all-natural ingredients in their authentic dishes. Take one bite you'll feel like you've been transported to the middle of Oktoberfest in Munich.
  6. Cheese Louise
When you're in the mood for gourmet comfort food, you'll definitely want to pay a visit to Cheese Louise. Don't miss out on the "Get Your Goat!" sandwich made with goat cheese, olive tapenade, roasted red pepper, and arugula or "Babe the Blue" made with blue cheese, caramelized onion, crisp apple, and fig jam. Don't forget to add a side of the amazing truffle fries!
  7. Tiki Tim's
Tacos are one of the best things to get from a food truck, and those that come from Tiki Tim's is no exception. This truck is famous for fish tacos, Hawaiian pulled pork tacos, and Korean street tacos. You also can't go wrong with the pulled pork sandwich or the "Tiki Cakes" made with crab and shrimp. Every island-inspired dish from this awesome food truck offers you a little taste of paradise.
