    The Elm Creek Winter Recreation Area features almost 18k of cross-country trails, along with a beginner hill for downhill skiing and snowboarding. There is also a lighted tubing area with snow-making, so you don't even need skis or a snowboard to have a great time.

    Searching for a unique, innovative terrain park where there's always a new feature to try? Then the Hyland Hills Ski Area is the place to be. Test your skills on the terrain park, enjoy some downhill runs, and stop by the Chalet for some delicious refreshments.
  5. Afton Alps – 6600 Peller Ave. S., Hastings, MN
    Are you an experienced skier or rider, looking for some variety in your downhill trails? Afton Alps is one of the larger ski resorts in the Minneapolis Area, with 17 lifts and trails to suit every skill level from beginner to expert. Afton Alps also offers an excellent ski school program and a beautiful Chalet where you can watch the mountain while enjoying a meal.
  6. Buena Vista Ski Area – 19600 Irvine Ave. NW, Bemidji, MN
    With a terrain park, tubing, ski school, and diverse collection of downhill trails, Buena Vista Ski Area offers everything you need for a fun day on the slopes. There are trails on both sides of the mountain, along with an extensive cross-country area located close to the downhill action.
  7. Andes Tower Hills – 4505 Andes Rd. SW, Kensington, MN
    Andes Tower Hills is a small but fun ski area, with 15 trails ranging from beginner to expert. There's a large terrain park, scenic cross-country trails, and a tubing area that's a hit with visitors of all ages.
